Day 01 Arrival to Addis Ababa. Meet your guide at Bole International Airport and transfer to hotel- Addis
Day 02 Full day city tour. Visit the Entoto Mountains, with its view over the capital, the National Museum and Trinity Church. Afternoon; visit the Merkato, the biggest open air market in Africa and shopping. Night- hotel- Addis
Day 03 Addis to Debre Birhan (130km). Drive from Addis to Debre Birhan and proceed to Ankober (41km from Debre Birhan). In late afternoon, visit the church of Debre Birhan (historical). Night hotel-Debre Birhan.
Day 04 Debre Birhan to Dessie (271km). In early morning, drive from Debre Birhan to Bati for the magnificent scenery (scenic route), a unique Cattle & camel market (On every Monday) and drive back to Dessie, appreciating the landscapes of the region and Italian made tunnels on the route. Night- at hotel -Dessie
Day 05 In the morning, drive from Dessie to Tenta. Overnight -Camping - Tenta
Day 06 Trek to Mekdela, usually on a mule back, explore the scenery, Mekdalla Sebastopol / Cannon, and trek back to Tenta. Night-Camping - Tenta
Day 07 Tenta to Gishen Mariam. Drive from Tenta to Gishen Mariam Monastery (one of the oldest monasteries) where a piece of the True Cross is kept. Night- Camping Ghishen
Day 08 Drive from Gishen to Woldia. Morning, visit Lake Haike & monasteries around, then drive to Woldia. Night hotel- Woldia
Day 09 Drive from Woldia to Lalibela. Night hotel - Lalibela
Day 10 Full day excursion. Morning, Visit the first group of churches. Afternoon; visit the second group of churches. Night hotel - Lalibela
Day 11 Morning, trek / mule ride to Asheten Mariam (about 4000m high) to see a mountain monastery and enjoy the magnificent scenery. Afternoon, trek to Nakuto la'ab Monastery (6km from Lalibela) and to Geneta Miriam Monastery. Night hotel - Lalibela
Day 12 Drive from Lalibela to Mekelle (scenic route). Night- hotel- Mekelle
Day 13 Drive from Mekelle to Wukro Cherkos/Hawzein/, Abreha-We-Atsbeha, Degum Sellasie, Debre Tsion. Night-Lodge / hotel – Hawzein/Wukro
Day 14 Explore the Geralta Rock Churches. Night- Hawzein/Wukro
Day 15 Drive from Hawzein /Wukro to- Axum. En route, visit Debre Damo Monastery, Yeha Temple, and Adwa escarpment. Night hotel-Axum
Day 16 Full day visit of Axum. Visit the Stele Park, Axum Museum, the Holy Ark of the Covenant ( given from God of Israel to Mosses), which is believed still to be kept in the church of St. Mary of Zion in Axum, Night Yeha Hotel - Axum
Day 17 Full day visit of Axum & its Surroundings. Visit the Swimming pool Of Queen of Sheba, Inscriptions, Tomb of Caleb, the Ruin palace of Queen of Sheba, Debre Libanos Monastery (women are restricted only at monastery compound), Pantaleon Monastery, Stele of Gudit. Night hotel-Axum
Day 18 Drive from Axum to Gondar via the escarpments of the Semien Mountains. Overnight hotel -Gondar
Day 19 Full day visit of the castles and the churches in Gondar. Night- Goha Hotel -Gondar
Day 20 Drive from Gondar to Gorgora (62km).Visit Debre Sina Mariam Monastery, rich in murals. Night-hotel - Gorgora
Day 21 Drive from Gorgora to Bahir Dar. (249kms). on the way, visit Wanzaye, a place for hot Spring water (9kms from the main route to Bahir Dar), very important for the local people (a curing spa against some diseases).People will immerse into the hot spring bath (a big room that accommodates from 40 to 80 people together) for about 6 hours (3 hours morning and 3hours afternoon) per day. In doing so, the patient will be cured or will have seen changes from his disease within a week. Night- hotel-Bahir Dar
Day 22 Morning drive to Blue Nile water falls. Afternoon, drive to Bezawit Palace (about 6kmsfrom Bahir Dar) to visit the palace at a distance built by king Haile Sellassie the 1st and over view the Lake Tana, the Blue Nile and the town Bahir Dar. Night hotel - Bahir Dar
Day 23 Morning .Boat trip on Lake Tana for the Monasteries. This trip enables you to admire the island monasteries, built in 14th century. Zeghie Peninsula Monastery, Kibran Gabriel, Ura Kidane Mehret etc. Night hotel - Bahir Dar.
Day 24 Drive from Bahir Dar to Debre Markos. This route is the most agricultural area in Historic route. Night hotel-Debre Markos
Day 25 Drive from Debre Markos to Addis. En route, visit The Nile gorge, The Portuguese Bridge and Debre Libanos monastery. Night- hotel – Addis
